Experience Door County’s maritime heritage from the best seat in the house—on the water.

There’s something timeless about a lighthouse. Standing tall against wind and wave, they tell the story of Door County’s rich nautical past—one of keepers, storms, and steadfast light. This season, we invite you to discover that story with Shoreline Boat Tours during Lighthouse Passport Days, hosted by our educational partners at the Door County Maritime Museum & Lighthouse Preservation Society.

Formerly known as the Door County Lighthouse Festival, Lighthouse Passport Days are now offered on select dates throughout the season, giving lighthouse lovers more opportunities to experience these historic treasures—both on land and by water.

What Are Lighthouse Passport Days?

Part of the U.S. Lighthouse Society’s Passport Program, these special days give lighthouse lovers the opportunity to collect passport stamps at participating locations across Door County. Many lighthouses—even those not typically open to the public—offer access on these dates, making it a truly unique way to experience the area’s nautical history.

At Shoreline Boat Tours, we’re proud to offer exclusive narrated cruises that bring guests up close to Door County’s most iconic lighthouses.

🚤 From Sturgeon Bay
Our Sturgeon Bay tour travels through the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal, offering spectacular views of the Sturgeon Bay Canal North Pierhead Light and the Sturgeon Bay Coast Guard Station Lighthouse. On select Lighthouse Passport Days, we also offer special trips to view the Sherwood Point Lighthouse—a rare and unforgettable experience.

🚤 From Baileys Harbor
Our Baileys Harbor tour features not one, but three historic lighthouses, including the Cana Island Lighthouse—one of Door County’s most beloved and photographed landmarks. You’ll also see the Original Baileys Harbor “Birdcage” Lighthouse and the Baileys Harbor Range Lights, each with its own story and architectural charm. And thanks to our onboard screens sharing vintage photos and local history, you’ll gain even more insight into the area’s maritime past as you cruise along the shoreline.
